Sleep is a Drug

Sleep is a drug. I lie down, close my eyes, and pray I drift off quickly—carried away in the arms of the god Morpheus. It’s a cold, mindless blackness … because I don’t remember my dreams.

In the darkness, I find peace. I forget. Sleep is like alcohol or drugs—I can kill the frantic thoughts in my head. For a few hours, my restless mind is still.

And when I open my eyes, I have a new hope. Sleep is my drug of choice.
