Promise

Ali wouldn’t meet Peter’s gaze. The young man stepped forward and took her hand.

“Look,” he said quietly. “I’ll be here when this is over. I’ll be here when the semester ends. I’ll be here for you next year.”

Ali looked up and stared into his eyes. They looked at each other for a long time.

Finally, she said, “I trust you.”

This is so cute…hope that was the plan πŸ˜‰

As with most of your short stories it leaves me wanting more (in a good way)

I don’t know how you do it. I used to write a little, but not near as compellingly as you do. There is something so charming about your stories that have enough information to get the reader to feel what the characters’ are feeling, but still leave you not knowing exactly what’s going on.

    In short, I like!

    • Thanks for the feedback. Didn’t origionally mean to make it “cute” πŸ™‚ …

But I DID want to give you a snippet of a story and feel like you accidently overheard a real couple talking about their relationship. I wanted to convey that there is so much more around this short situation that I didn’t tell you.
